from Boise to Mountain Home, Idaho

Easy day, with nice cool weather and a good wind at our backs. But, when I get on the bike in the morning I can HEAR my body saying "Oh, no, not again"! I am getting stronger, though, and had to buy a belt 'cause my bluejean shorts were falling off. (one guy said he's lost 7.5 lbs already).

more pictures around Boise

Rest day in Boise, Idaho

I visited Ellie and Barry Dworak at Boise State University, and walked around town some. The Hyde Park area is old and quaint, with big houses.

Last full day in Oregon. Tomorrow we ride into Boise. We are now in Mountain Time Zone. We rode part of the time today on the shoulder of Interstate-84, and next to the Snake River.

Very pretty route, but three big hills. I'll just post some pictures (all with my cell phone camera).

eastern Oregon is pretty

through the eastern side of the Cascade Mtns.

from Prineville, OR to John Day, Oregon

Beautiful, rural scenery. I like the eastern side of the Cascades - sunny, drier, big mountains, green meadows, lots of flowing rivers, and nobody around. I'll just attach some pictures. Too tired to write much.....brain dead....

more pictures from the ride to Prineville, OR

Left the Warm Springs Indian Reservation behind and went to the town of Warm Springs, OR, then to Prineville, OR. The thing to consider is not the distance so much as the terrain. We get the route instructions each day, plus a topographic map of the terrain.
